North Yarmouth Flag Committee Gains Approval to Display Flags in Town Center
January, 2007

In December 2006, Darla Hamlin met with the Board of Selectmen in North Yarmouth, Maine to seek their permission to fly American flags in the town center. She requested their support and asked that the town sign an agreement with Verizon/CMP that would allow for their utility poles to be used for this purpose. The Board asked that she provide more information on this project so she returned again in January 2007. Her request was approved at this meeting.
The presentations are provided here in "pdf" format.
Barb Hauke joined Darla Hamlin and Tom Low on the flag project in January 2007.
Two local boy scouts, Jake Grandchamp and Anton Zrioka, worked with the committee throughout the project as a service to their community. Besides committee member, Tom Low, the flags were put up by Ron Hamlin, Harold Stoddard, and Joe Ruby.
